J90 compact carrier board for TX1/TX2

The J90 is a compact carrier board with the lowest vertical size. There are no components on the bottom side. The “J90” is the fully featured version: 2x UART, 2x CSI-2 (22 pin, 0.5mm pitch for IMX219 camera or B102 module), 100BT Ethernet (capacitive coupled – for short connections within a system or a room), 2x I2C (3.3V), 1x SPI (3.3V), GPIOs (3.3V), 1x micro USB 2.0, 1x micro USB 3.0, fan connector, 2nd CSI-2 (22 pin, 0.5mm pitch), 1x CAN (TX2 only), IMU (MPU-9250), and watchdog (STM32F042 MCU). Optional 40 pin RPi like GPIO header (this header may be added on the bottom side – note: some signals are 1.8V level).

Note: not supported yet by TX2 with Jetpack 4.2! (use Jetpack 3.3 or older versions)

Watchdog (MCU):
The MCU is powered as soon as power is connected to the J90 carrier board. It is powered by an LDO which supports an input voltage up to 30V. The MCU can enable power to the J90 carrier board when the voltage is in the supported voltage range (7V to 17V). The MCU monitors the power input, 5V, 3.3V and 1.8V rails. The UART0 console port of the TX1/TX2 is piped through the MCU. This allows the MCU to monitor the operating status of the TX1 and TX2. The MCU can take action and hardware reset the TX1/TX2 or power it down. The MCU is a 32 bit ARM Cortex M0 microcontroller with 32kB Flash and 6kB RAM. It is programmed in C.

Cable/mechanical kit (included)
A complimentary accessory kit with the following components is included (from left to right – please refer to the picture above):
– mechanical set with 4 countersunk screws (M3x12), 4 M3 hex nuts, 4 hex spacers (M3x7, 2 inside threads) and 4 hex spacers (M3x7+6, 1 inside thread) to mount the J90 with TX1/TX2 CVM and its heatsink
– 2 AWG28 wire leads red 300mm (one side pre-crimped for housing)
– 2 AWG28 wire leads black 300mm (one side pre-crimped for housing)
– 4 4-pin housings
– 2 6-pin housings
– 9 AWG28 wire leads (red, green, orange, black) 130mm (one side pre-crimped, the other side with single 2.54mm female header)
– power cable with 2 AWG28 wires (red, black) 130mm, single 2.54mm female header pins

Additional cables, housings and mechanical parts may be purchased separately.

Ethernet adapter (not included)
The RJ45 to 4 pin adapter cable is not included but may be purchased separately. It connects the four Ethernet pins (2x TX and 2x RX) to the 100Mbit Ethernet connector.
